This page lists the game research archives I’ve made publicly available on the Legends of Localization site. Each archive usually contains hundreds to thousands of screenshots, save files, and other documents. Generally, the screenshots come from two sources: a Japanese game and its English translation. The screenshots and data are lightly organized, but have received little or no curation.

• EarthBound (Japanese / English) [SFC/SNES]

  Over 13,000 screenshots + 100 save-states from the Super Famicom and Super NES versions of MOTHER 2/EarthBound.

• EarthBound Beginnings (Japanese / English) [FC/NES]

  Over 4000 screenshots + 36 save files, covering both the original Japanese release and the long-unreleased English version.

• Final Fantasy IV (English) [GBA]

  Over 3000 screenshots from the North American version of Final Fantasy IV's GBA port.

• Final Fantasy IV (English) [PS1]

  Nearly 3000 screenshots from the English PS1 re-translation of Final Fantasy IV.

• Final Fantasy IV (Japanese / English / Easy Type) [SFC/SNES]

  Over 12,000 screenshots and 30 save files from the original Japanese, English, and Japanese "Easy Type" releases.

• Mega Man (Japanese / English) [FC/NES]

  Screenshots, comparisons, and save files from both versions of the original Rockman/Megaman game.

• Mega Man II (Japanese / English) [FC/NES]

  132 side-by-side screenshots and 14 save-states from the original Japanese and English versions of Mega Man II.

• Mega Man III (Japanese / English) [FC/NES]

  14 save-states and over 130 side-by-side images from the Japanese and English versions of Mega Man III.

• MOTHER 1+2 (MOTHER 2 only) [GBA]

  Over 50 save files and 5000 screenshots from the Japanese GBA port of MOTHER 2/EarthBound.

• Persona 5 (English) [PS4]

  Approximately 200 strange, funny, or interesting screenshots from portions of the English PS4 game.

• Pokemon Vietnamese Crystal (Bootleg Translation) [GBC]

  Over 500 screenshots and several save files from the early part of this bootleg English translation.

• Super Mario RPG (English w/ Japanese Text) [SNES]

  Over 50 save files + 4000 screenshots of the English game with the Japanese text in a special sidebar.

• Tales of Phantasia (English) [GBA]

  450+ screenshots and 9 save files from the English GBA release. One super-EXP .ips patch file included.

• The Legend of Zelda (Multiple Versions)

  Save files, photos, and over 1000 images from 10 different versions of the original Zelda game.

• The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (Japanese / English) [3DS]

  Over 8000 crisp PNG screenshots, covering the full Japanese and English 3DS versions of the game.

• The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past (Japanese / English) [SFC/SNES]

  Over 1500 organized screenshots from the Japanese and English versions of the game.

• The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Japanese) [Switch]

  Over 13,000 screenshots from the Japanese Switch version of the game.

• Xenoblade Chronicles (English) [Wii]

  Over 100 hours of video footage from the English Wii version of the game.

• Zelda II: The Adventure of Link (Japanese / English) [FDS/NES]

  Over 1500 screenshots and 33 save states from the original Japanese FDS release and the English NES release. A side-by-side script PDF too.
