Zero Wing (1991)
This spaceship-shooting arcade game was ported to home consoles in 1991. The English translation (released only in Europe) was so poorly done that Zero Wing is still cited as the very definition of bad video game translation decades later.
Update Status
I'm taking a relaxed break from Legends of Localization at the moment, but I still plan to add more articles and comparisons from time to time.
