This is Part 15 of my project to document the poor text translations in Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment
. For project more details and to start from the very beginning, see here
Darkness Buress? Nope, should be Darkness Breath
And uet here we have a nearby enemy that gets "Breath" translated properly!
Should be "mechanism"
This line is immediately followed by...
In Japanese, one word for "Boss" literally comes from the word kashira ("head, as in the body part"), which makes sense and all - we kinda do the same thing too in English sometimes. But the Japanese writers decided to turn it into the English word "Head" here to sound exotic, but boy does it come off weird in a straight translation like this
Did he got noticed?
Nice, didn't got noticed
I'm not sure what "gaining times" means, if anything
There are dozens of these weird doors, and the English line makes it sound like you need an item or a key or a skill to open them. But guess what? You can't open them! Ever! I checked, and the Japanese version of the line is super simple: "It appears to be a broken door that can't be opened." Man, and I almost spent hours trying to find a way through these doors...
This room is filled with "Mimic" enemies of various sorts. For some reason, only this one is spelled as "Mimick"
This should actually say "without". That's a big mistake to make
Search for what?! Seriously, there's no talk about searching for anything before this
Cool, something is dropped
The dropped something is also spilled over the text box
Should this be parsed as "(Sword of King) Ruling the Sky" or "Sword of (King Ruling the Sky)"? I guess it doesn't matter much either way, but it could've been phrased much better I'm sure
"Did you said just run if things get tough?" - This line doesn't make much sense in context even if you fix the grammar
Oh, you're an orange
Oh, they're all oranges
WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH ORANGES??
Enough oranges for one day
"We'll can talk more comparing to that hero guy."
"You'll die if you say with that guy"
